Digital Conference on Energy Efficient Solutions for Industries in Tanzania

24/09/2021

The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa, through its commercial entity AHK Services Eastern Africa Ltd. hosted a Digital Conference on Energy Efficient Solutions for Industries in Tanzania on Tuesday, 21st September 2021 followed by B2B meetings. This was part of a digital delegation trip to Tanzania which is implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) and supported by the project partner The Renewables Academy AG (RENAC).

During this conference, German companies linked up with local partners, experts, decision makers, and key players in industry to discuss solutions, services and innovative technologies that can drive efficient, improved, secure and reliable domestic energy in Tanzania. This is in line with the revised energy policy launched in 2003 by the Government of Tanzania. The policy’s focus is to provide affordable and accessible energy supplies countrywide, reform and expand the market for energy services, form an institutional framework which facilitates investment, as well as provide efficient pricing mechanisms and other financial incentives to the private sector.

More importantly the framework emphasized adequately taking into account environmental considerations for all energy activities, promoting energy efficiency and conservation in all sectors.

AHK Services Eastern Africa Ltd. would like to thank all the stakeholders that have come together to make this conference a great success. In the days following the conference, many B2B meetings were organized between the German companies participating in the delegation and Tanzanian counterparts.
