DIHK Spring 2019 Economic Survey Results of IHK Network

30/05/2019

The Association of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK), the umbrella organization of the 79 Regional Chambers of Commerce in Germany (IHKs) as well as the worldwide AHK network with offices in 92 countries has published the results of the Spring 2019 issue of its Economic Survey of the IHK Network.

With increased economic pressure and a slowed global economy, companies in Germany are under pressure and the current outlook is gloomier than beginning of the year. An alarm signal has been sounded as expectations for international business have sunk lower than they have been in a decade. However, it is not all doom and gloom, the retail and construction sectors continue to flourish and support the German economy. But the foreign trade environment may face some long-term difficulty as the German economy faces major economic and structural challenges.

The survey is based on responses from 25,000 companies in Germany.
