German Companies Explore TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training) Opportunities in Kenya

On June 5, 2023, AHK Services Eastern Africa hosted a conference attended by more than 100 participants to showcase German TVET (Technical and Vocational Education Training) Products and Solutions. This conference, held in the framework of the Foreign Market Entry Program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), served as a platform for key stakeholders in TVET from both Germany and Kenya to come together and explore partnership opportunities. The conference was opened by Maren Diale-Schellschmidt, Delegate of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa.

We were honoured to have distinguished speakers at the conference: Dr Esther Thaara Muoria - Principal Secretary, State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at the Ministry of Education, Priscilla Kerebi – KEPSA and Frank Mukuna – Deputy Director of the Registration and Accreditation Department. German experts contributing were Peter Pfaffe of iMove (BIBB), Dr Norbert Völker of VDMA, and Bruno Backes, head of TVET at the AHK.

Prior to and following the conference, B2B meetings were organized for the five German participating companies: Festo Didactic, Christiani GmbH & Co. KG, Stepwise Management e.K., Okki Solutions Limited, and ICUnet.Group. AHK Services Eastern Africa effectively coordinated more than 40 B2B meetings for the German companies, involving private enterprises, educational institutions, consultants, and senior government officials in the education sector.
