From, 12 to 17 June 2023, AHK Services Eastern Africa Ltd hosted a delegation of 7 companies from the Agricultural Machinery Association (VDMA) in Kenya. The purpose of the visit was to facilitate a three-day tour of farms and agricultural machinery companies in Nairobi and Nakuru Counties, before participating in the German Pavilion at the Agritec Africa 2023 Exhibition in Nairobi, coordinated by IFWexpo Heidelberg GmbH.
The diversified program offered the German companies a first-hand experience of farming practices in Kenya, including the technologies being used, and also gave them the chance to explore partnership opportunities.
The delegation visited the following Kenyan companies: Hallo Tractor, Quipbank Trust Limited/Vehicle and Equipment Leasing Limited (VAELL) (Tinga), and FMD East Africa team. Additionally, several farms were visited, namely; FreshCrop Limited, Ngongongeri Farm, Agventure Limited, and Delamere Farm. With all these visits there were able to explore the present stage of use of agricultural technologies on site.
Upon returning to Nairobi, the delegation then participated in the German Pavilion at the Agritec Africa 2023 Trade Fair, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) . Such a German Pavilion always offers great exposure under the joint brand “Made in Germany”, for the companies to showcase their products and solutions and engage in B2B meetings.
